Charlz
Chuck is the man who keeps the bottom where it belongs and the rhythm pumpin'. He and our drummer(s) make for one of the best rhythm sections in the area. With a background in classical guitar Chalrz is not your typical bass player. He was active in the Rhode Island Blues community for 10 years prior to settling in Hunterdon County, NJ. He has performed with Johnny Charles, Liberty Blues, City Dreams, plus he also played with Lori in the Barn Rock Blues Band for years. Charlz also writes his own original material which we hope will eventually become part of MESA set lists. No matter where he is, he lends his own unique style both musically and vocally.
Will
Started playing piano around age 13 because the piano teacher who lived in the house next to us was a really good looking woman named Marcella. But found I actually liked playing the piano for real so got a little serious with it. First band I joined in High School was a Grateful Dead band. Went to Jersey City University and got a degree in music, played a little bit of jazz at the time in Jersey City as I was learning how to play. Played in a bunch of rock and disco bands in the late 70's/early 80's. Dropped completely out of music when I got married and had kids. After a long long layoff started playing again around 1999....started getting some local gigs playing piano at restaurants/parties etc. Was in some local country and rock bands from 2000 to present day. Have found that the greatest thing about playing the piano is that it is free...and I can keep myself from falling into further debt by practicing a lot...actually just kidding..I really do like playing. My current gear....multiple Korg SP pianos, Yamaha motif, Yamaha MO6, Korg cx-3 organ with ventilator Leslie, a couple of Korg tritons, novation x-station 25, Roland AX-synth keytar...motion sound amp....

Title: Danny - Origin of Species
Dan Frederick has been playing in bands since his teens. Although somewhat new to the country scene, Dan compares today's country music with the sound of 70's rock. During that era, he played with the rock band, "Fiasco", which opened locally for concerts featuring Santana, The James Gang, and other bands from the 70's. He continued into the 80's and 90's with the band, "Clue", playing top 40 dance music extensively in clubs and for private parties.
Dan plays a variety of musical styles, but particularly enjoys playing today's contemporary country music.
P.S. You will need a logarithm to figure out his exact age.
Our Band members have many years of experience. Through the years of experience our band members have played for various bands and have a good knowledge of all types of music.
Our Members have "authored" their own bios! Everyone of our members has their own "unique" music personality and that is what helps to make MESA what it is today.
Enjoy reading the information on our members and please feel free to leave a comment to one of our members on our Guestbook page.
Laurette
Laurette comes to MESA with a background in Gospel music. Her early years were spent traveling and performing in a family Gospel group at various venues. When the group disbanded in the early 80’s, Laurette continued to perform and win many local talent / karaoke competitions. The requests to perform at Weddings as well as other functions continued. However, performing in a band was not something she found the ability to manage with all of life’s other blessings like her children and family. Laurette came to MESA in late 2009 as the lead singer and has loved every minute of it! Laurette and her husband live in Nazareth with the “Last” of their three children. More recently, as they become “empty nesters, “Laurette and her husband have taken over the management of MESA." We look forward to the very promising future of MESA.

Russ
Russ started to appear on the Lehigh Valley music scene at the young age of 16. He was asked to play with a gang of older college students lead by the late Bruce Gillingham (Freddy and the Starlight’s Fame). He then joined “Encore” (the late Lou Perez) in which Russ started is “Elvis” phase. From there Russ formed a long relationship with the late “Danny Treste Band” which covered 20 years. While his time with the band Russ was a major contributor for the band moving toward Country Western songs. This band was soon known as the “Kenny Rogers “band of the Lehigh Valley. Russ was well on his way to taking his place in the local music industry through the 80’s and 90’s. This included playing for MESA from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, Russ moved to North Carolina where he became a regular and host at the “Lasker NC Grand Ole Oprey.” While in North Carolina, Russ played with Motown/Beach Music group “Steppin Out and Greenwill NC’s legend Nicky Hams.” This led to a Tour the Summer of 2000, with Country/Blues great T. Graham Brown as well as some fill in with Country Singer Ronnie McDowell. All relationships are both professional and personal. Russ moved back to the Lehigh Valley in 2003, not sure of his music future and recovering from an illness. He was back on the music scene once again playing for such local bands as; “Blacksmith,” “Blues Group,” and “The Blues Factor Keith Van Etten).” AS all good things come full circle, Russ joined MESA and has been there ever since. Russ experience has lent to his ability to play various types of music which includes Rock, Blues, Latin, Oldies and even Polkas as well as Country. Russ states the current country music is the “Most Challenging” vocally. He also states that doing Back-up and Harmonies is so much more fun then lead singing. Russ will always feel “The Drums have always been Fun.”

Keith
Keith has been fascinated by music since he was in grade school. From his first time picking up a recorder in 3rd grade to trumpet or tube in high school. He has also been in elite singing groups from Meister Singers to District Chorus and he loves songs with great harmonies. He has been in many bands since the early '90s, all of them hard rock cover bands or original rock bands. MESA is only his 2nd country band, but he really like this genre. Ever since his first line dance, he was hooked. His favorites are the fast songs with a great fiddle, piano, or guitar lick!
